As part of our time in Danang we go to the Danang University of Physical Education and Sport (DUPES). In visiting this institution we are able to gain an insight into life within an overseas university and compare facilities at a sport specific university.
Students are also able to see what role sport can play as part of connecting cultures with DUPES students showing us one of their sports which is a version of shuttlecock played with feet rather than a racquet.
In return our students were able introduce the game of Aussie Rules (AFL) to DUPES and its students and staff. Even a bit of rain could not dampen the enthusiasm of the students for this session and it was amazing to how quickly the DUPES students picked up skills of AFL.
Thanks to GWS GIANTS and AFL NSW/ACT for supply all the equipment and gifts. All equipment was donated to DUPES and will remain with the university
