Today begins the 2019 study tour to Vietnam and this time I am accompanied by 10 students from the School of Business across the disciplines of Hospitality, Sport and Tourism.
Once arriving in Vietnam our first stop was dinner at the the Pho24 restaurant. This restaurant was the first franchise business set up in Vietnam and at its peak had 65 stores throughout Asia. The significance of this chain for the students is that this restaurant chain was established by our hospitality alumni Dr Ly Qui Trung. Here the students not only get to enjoy the traditional noodles of Vietnam, but also learn about the very inspiring Dr Trung who once sat in their seat as a student.
After dinner there was a bit of time for some exploring at the local markets with varying levels of success in the bargaining department, but lets just say there is one very happy Vietnamese seller.
