In a range of sports there is a tension between the teams which use stadiums and organisations which own and operate the stadium. This often becomes an issue for teams which are trying to maximise a customer experience and increase game day attendance. In some cases grounds which were designed and developed many years ago do not offer the amenities desired by today’s sports fan – wi-fi access is a case in point for many stadium.
Perhaps with future stadiums this might all be about the change if Kleinmannwang‘s conceptual Parklands Arena is anything to go by. The proposed stadium not only looks to create a superior fan experience but it will also look to utilise the space outside of game days with office and retail spaces incorporated into the structure of the stadium.
