After the mornings activities we had some free time over lunch and I had arranged to meet Quynh Nguyen .
Quynh has been our guide for the past few years on the study tours in Hanoi and wanted to meet and show us what life was like for a Vietnamese family. And with that myself and the Happy Buddha were invited to join Quynh for lunch at his home
It was clear that Quynh’s mother in law had not heard the advice I gave to the students about not eating much for lunch as she cooked up an amazing multiple course Vietnamese lunch. As part of Quynh’s house his family also runs a small shop from the front of the house which services local university students with convenience styled goods.
We also learnt more about the life of the local university students who live in local rental rooms.
