In the interests of comparison the study tour stops at the Caravelle Hotel, one of Ho Chi Minh City’s 5 star hotels. With students enjoying softer pillows, bigger breakfasts and the pool we headed off to find out what made this hotel tick with a behind the scenes tour.
To begin with we were privileged to meet with Caravelle General Manager John Gardener who gave us n insight into life at the Caravelle and some wisdom from his 30 years as a General Manager of many hotels. John was also joined by Deputy General Manager Nguyen Dong Hoa, Director of Human Resources Bui Tien Dat and Training Manager Pham Tri Tung in providing some insight working at the Caravelle.
Students were then taken for an extensive behind the scenes tour in which the saw a City view room, Business lounge, pool, business centre, kitchens, staff uniform room, bars, casino and restaurant. A great tour which provided insight into both the operations of the hotel and the service they have been receiving as guests
Many thanks to the staff and management of the Caravelle for their hospitality on the tour and during our stay. And good luck to UWS Hospitality student Rebecca who will be starting an internship with the Caravelle next week for one and a half months
