A message to home

As part of the half day city tour, one of stops is the Ho Chi MinhCity post office. This is a working post office which is also become a tourist attraction creating an interesting mix of core business and tourism.

When visiting the post office a question is posed to the students  – when was the last time they received physical mail. With the answer to that question in mind, students are encouraged to post a postcard home, and not just to friends and loved ones but also themselves.  With a small amount of luck the postcard will be waiting for them upon their arrival as a great reminder and momento of the journey.

  1. Interesting to dwell on the concept of a once everyday activity superseded by technology becoming the foundation of an experience. How many other experience possibilities lie in the realm of nostalgia?
